Denver weather forecast calls for spotty thunderstorms, rain

A hot weekend is in store for the Front Range

Occasional high winds, scattered rain, and thunderstorms are expected in the Denver metro area on Thursday, forecasters say.

There’s a 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms after 1 p.m., according to the National Weather Service in Boulder. The high temperatures will be around 86 degrees. Winds gusting out of the southwest as high as 23 mph.

The chance for afternoon stormy weather diminishes on Friday. It will be partly sunny with a high temperature of around 85 degrees.

A hot weekend is in store for the Front Range, with temperatures rising to 90 on Saturday and 95 on Sunday, the NWS says.

It will get somewhat milder on Labor Day on Monday, when temperatures will peak at about 87 degrees.

The high will drop again to around 79 degrees on Tuesday, when there is a chance for afternoon rain and thunder storms.
