Here’s how the teams in the latest  fared in Week 1 action. The next set of Power Rankings come out on Monday afternoon.

Class 5A

No. 1 despite a strong overall performance from its defense.

No. 2 behind three Luke McCaffrey touchdowns, two by ground and one by air.

No. 3 Pomona (1-0) had a bye.

No. 4 after failing to score following a go-ahead first-quarter touchdown.

No. 5 after opening the game with special teams and defensive scores.

No. 6 Eaglecrest (1-0) beat Smoky Hill (0-1) 49-7 thanks to multiple touchdowns from Jalen Mergerson, Kenny Wantings and Victor Garnes.

No. 7 with a dominant 16-0 fourth-quarter performance.

No. 8 Grandview (1-0) beat Chaparral (0-1) 21-7 thanks to solid second-half defense as well as a 14-point fourth quarter.

No. 9 Columbine (2-0) beat Rocky Mountain (0-1) 35-13 with two rushing touchdowns from Conner Snow and one from Ted Mullin.

No. 10 Arapahoe (0-0) plays Rock Canyon (0-0) on Saturday afternoon.

Class 4A

No. 1 Pine Creek (0-0) plays at ThunderRidge (0-0) on Saturday night.

No. 2 Broomfield (0-1) lost to 5A Legacy (1-0) 35-21 as the Lightning racked up 194 yards and three scores on the ground.

No. 3 Chatfield (0-1) had a bye.

No. 4 Ponderosa (1-0) beat 5A Legend (0-1) 31-21 in a town of Parker rivalry as Sterling Ostdahl quarterbacked PHS to the victory.

No. 5 Windsor (1-0) beat No. 10 Vista Ridge (0-1) 14-3 in a grinding victory in coach Chris Jones’ return following his year off in 2016.

No. 6 Monarch (1-0) beat Bear Creek (0-1) 39-13 in a decisive season-opening win for coach Philip Bravo and his Coyotes.

No. 7 Heritage (0-0) plays at Rampart (1-0) on Saturday night.

No. 8 Denver South (0-1) lost to 5A Boulder (1-0) 27-25 as an 80-yard kickoff return by Patrick Fletcher with 12 seconds left set up the BHS win.

No. 9 Fruita Monument (1-0) beat Montrose (1-1) 36-35 with two rushing touchdowns from Braeden Graham as well as quarterback Zach Rush.

No. 10 Vista Ridge (0-1) lost to No. 5 Windsor (1-0) 14-3 as Sean Robinson had the lone points for the Wolves, who were held to 65 yards rushing.
