El Paso County authorities have identified the 41-year-old man slain early Tuesday .
Jack Andrew Cole died of a gunshot wound in what has been ruled a homicide, according to the sheriff’s office.
Sheriff’s deputies were called to the 3900 block of Shining Star Drive about 2 a.m. Tuesday on reports of a shooting. They found Cole dead.
“The major crimes unit has taken over the investigation,” the sheriff’s office said Wednesday. “We do not believe there is any threat to the community. More information will be released as the investigation allows.”
