A family of four died in a plane crash while flying from Fort Collins to Utah in a private plane Saturday, according to the Garfield County Sheriff’s Office.

An air search found debris from the crash north of Glenwood Springs shortly before 11:40 a.m. Agencies are working to get ground crews to the area.

The name of the family, which was made up of two adults and two children, has not been released at this time.

The plane was last reported roughly nine miles north of Rifle near Baster Peak. The air search was delayed this morning because of low-hanging clouds.
