The Front Range should be sunny Tuesday and Wednesday ahead of a cold front expected to arrive Thursday that could bring showers.
Tuesday should see a high in the low 60s and an overnight low in the low 40s, National Weather Service meteorologist Kari Bowen said. The Front Range should see light winds, with gusts increasing further east into the Plains where they may reach 30-40 mph.
Wednesday will be the last warm day before a coming cold front. Highs should be in the 70s as both light wind and sunny skies are expected, Bowen said.
When Thursday arrives, there is a 40-50 percent chance of showers. The high should be in the 40s, she said. Snow is expected to mix in with rain closer to the foothills. Higher elevations may see 1-2 inches of snow dropped throughout the day.
With the moisture and lows below freezing, frost is possible.
Friday should be sunny again, although it’ll take time to warm up, Bowen said. Highs are expected in the upper 40s, gradually warming to the upper 50s on Saturday.
