
Friends and family of Megan Dierker, a University of Colorado student who was the only survivor of , have started a to raise money to help pay for her medical expenses.
According to the page, which was started by family friend Linda Buckley on behalf of the Dierker family, Dierker recently was released after three surgeries and two weeks at the Medical Center of the Rockies in Loveland.
“Now is when the real healing begins as Megan will face a long road of in-home medical and emotional care,” Buckley wrote. “We are hoping that with the kindness and loving spirit of so many family and friends, we can raise money to help offset her on-going medical costs from this tragic event.
“Thank you for your prayers, your support, your hugs and your random acts of kindness — the entire family appreciates your support more than you know.”
The page has raised more than $18,000 of its $50,000 goal since it was created on Nov. 1.
