A 24-year-old man wanted on a first-degree murder warrant has been arrested in Pittsburgh in the shooting death of a Colorado Springs teen in late October.
Donte Jose Mayo allegedly shot and killed 18-year-old Alex Eugene Ainsworth on Oct. 26 in the 2300 block of East Boulder Street in Colorado Springs, police spokesman to Lt. Howard Black said.
Ainsworth and were shot at 2:02 p.m. that day. Ainsworth died four days later, Black said.
The department’s violent crimes section worked with members of the FBI Safe Streets Task Force and the Allegheny County fugitive task force to locate Mayo in Pennsylvania, Black wrote in a news release.
