A person was killed early Thursday morning when the driver lost control of a SUV during a snowstorm on eastbound U.S. 36 in Broomfield and the vehicle rolled, authorities say.
The name and gender of the victim has not been released.
Two lanes of the highway are closed between Wadsworth and Church Ranch boulevards while police investigate the crash that happened around 4:20 a.m., said Sgt. Steve Griebel, spokesman for the Broomfield Police Department.
“It will absolutely delay traffic,” Griebel said.
Griebel recommended that people take alternative routes to work Thursday morning because the highway will be partially closed through the rush hour.
It’s unclear whether weather conditions had anything to do with the crash, he said.
