A fire at an oil site on Friday night near Windsor injured a worker who was taken to a local hospital.
The fire broke out at about 8:45 p.m. at a facility near Colorado 392 and Weld County Road 21, according to the Weld County Sheriff’s office.
Further details on the worker’s injures were not released. Flames from the fire lit up the night sky and plumes of dark smoke rose into the air. Some area residents, on social media, reported hearing a loud boom and feeling their houses shake. Photos and videos of the incident were posted on social media.
Colorado 392 was shut down from Colorado 257 to Weld County Road 23, according to the Windsor Fire Department.
Lots of engines here at 392/257, appear to be getting water. You can see the fire in the distance toward the end of the video.
