Getting your player ready...

Beginning March 12, 2018, at 10 a.m. MT, teams can begin to negotiate with free agents but cannot sign any player until March 14 at 2 p.m. MT, the official start of the new league year. Below are the Broncos’ 2018 free agents, along with their position and age.

Unrestricted Free Agents

Unrestricted free agents have at least four accrued seasons (six or more regular-season games each) with a team and are free to sign with any team when the new league year begins.

Restricted Free Agents

Restricted free agents have three accrued seasons with a team and, like unrestricted free agents, are able to negotiate with other teams. But their incumbent teams have a chance to match or, depending on the level of the tender (right of first refusal only, first round or second round), receive draft compensation in exchange. The tenders are one-year, fully guaranteed contracts.

Exclusive Rights Free Agents

Exclusive rights free agents have less than two accrued seasons and are essentially the property of their current team, should the team make them a one-year qualifying offer for the minimum salary. Unlike restricted free agents, ERFAs are not allowed to negotiate with other teams. If no tender is made, the player becomes an unrestricted free agent.
