The metro Denver area should see fairly nice temperatures this weekend as the mountain remains gusty.

The urban corridor should be partly cloudy Saturday with highs in the lower 40s, National Weather Service meteorologist Jim Kalina said. Temperatures should cool into the lower to mid 20s overnight. Sunday is expected to be a little warmer with highs in the upper 40s and mostly sunny skies.

Meanwhile, the mountains should be partly cloudy with highs ranging from 17 degrees to 27 degrees, Kalina said. Wind should come out of the west at 10 mph to 20 mph with gusts around 35 mph. There’s a possibility of snow showers tonight with blowing snow in the evening. Lows should be between 9 degrees and 19 degrees. Sunday should see less wind and no snow with highs between 23 degrees and 33 degrees.

The mountains ended up seeing 2 inches to 4 inches of snow yesterday, Kalina said. Some local areas higher up had closer to 6 inches.

Denver’s next chance of snow should arrive by the middle of next week when another system moves in. Currently, there’s a 30 percent chance of snow on Wednesday, Kalina said.
