Re: “Imagining Colorado: Books, authors with connections to the Centennial State,” Jan. 18 feature story.
To say I was stunned by the omission of Hal Borland from nearly 3,500 words about authors associated with the Centennial State would be putting it mildly. Not only did Borland pen two impressive autobiographical novels about his early years in the Flagler area — “High, Wide and Lonesome” and “Country Editor’s Boy” — but his acclaimed “When the Legends Die” is a towering achievement and was required reading when I was a young teen growing up in Colorado Springs.
