Fort Collins got up to 4 inches of snow and Fort Morgan got a half foot while most Denver metro communities got barely a trace of snow on Thursday, meteorologists say.
Truth be told, it was a far cry from a storm in Denver Thursday morning. But it was a different story in northern Colorado.
“It seems like there is a line north of Longmont” where the most snow fell, said Cody Ledbetter, meteorologist for the National Weather Service in Boulder.
Ledbetter said the snow will continue to fall until around 11 a.m.
Denver International Airport may get a trace, he said. “We’re looking at a band of snow headed in that direction.”
The foothills west of Denver got anywhere from .1 to .3 inches of snow.
In the mountains, between 2 and 4 inches of snow is expected.
The high temperature will be around 37 degrees. Thursday night temperatures will drop to around 23 degrees.
Temperatures will fight their way up to the 50s Friday and Saturday. Sunday will be a bit cooler.
The work week beginning Monday will feature highs in the mid- to upper-50s under mostly sunny skies.
