Re: “Larimer Square owner says he wants to revitalize area but preservationists worry about scale,” Feb. 21 business news story.

I was shocked, dismayed and even angry after reading about the proposed redevelopment of Larimer Square. Are there really no sacred spaces left to be untouched in Denver? Are we really trying to block all sunshine for all downtown areas? Is our vision really to create an urban jungle? Have folks not heard how fed up we Denver citizens are with the out-of-control development? This proposal unfortunately reinforces all negative stereotypes about “developers.”

Of course, our mayor and City Council could be much stronger in getting some kind of control and limits over Denver’s current rampage of development.

Yes, I’m in a rage and hope this latest travesty gets vetoed immediately.
