Firefighters doused an apartment fire in southwest Denver Friday afternoon.

The fire broke out at about 3 p.m. in a residence at The Pines At Marston Lake, 4801 South Wadsworth Blvd., said Capt. Greg Pixley, a Denver Fire Department spokesman.

The fire was reported by an automated “fire protection system,” not a 911 call, Pixley said.

When firefighters arrived “it was going pretty good,” Pixley said. “We were able to get ahead of it quickly” and no injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
