Denver could see 70-degree temperatures by the end of the week

Sunday kicks off the week with highs in the low 50s

The Denver area should see rising temperatures throughout the week, peaking with highs in the 70s, according to the National Weather Service.

Sunday is expected to be sunny with a high in the low 50s, cooling to a low near 27 degrees at night, meteorologist Russell Danielson said.

Monday should be mostly sunny with a high near 56 degrees, he said. Temperatures will continue to rise Tuesday, with a high near 57 degrees, jumping to almost 70 degrees Wednesday, he said. Thursday should be mostly sunny with 70-degree temperatures.

Temperatures will cool slightly Friday, with a high near 65 degrees.
