Re: “The Trump administrationās firing of FBI official Andrew McCabe,” March 19 letters to the editor.
Two letters in The Denver Post want to point (explicitly and implicitly, respectfully) to President Donald Trump for the firing of former FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe.
McCabe was fired by the attorney general, not Trump, because both the independent inĀspecĀtor genĀeral, Michael Horowitz, and the FBIās OfĀfice of ProĀfesĀsional ReĀsponĀsiĀbilĀity conĀcluded that McĀCabe made an unauĀthorized disĀcloĀsure and lacked canĀdor when he spoke unĀder oath. Both are cause for termination under the FBI code of ethics.
Trump’s comments subsequent to the firing were unhelpful and unnecessary, as usual.
