Re: “The Trump administration鈥檚 firing of FBI official Andrew McCabe,” March 19 letters to the editor.

Two letters in The Denver Post want to point (explicitly and implicitly, respectfully) to President Donald Trump for the firing of former FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe.

McCabe was fired by the attorney general, not Trump, because both the independent in颅spec颅tor gen颅eral, Michael Horowitz, and the FBI鈥檚 Of颅fice of Pro颅fes颅sional Re颅spon颅si颅bil颅ity con颅cluded that Mc颅Cabe made an unau颅thorized dis颅clo颅sure and lacked can颅dor when he spoke un颅der oath. Both are cause for termination under the FBI code of ethics.

Trump’s comments subsequent to the firing were unhelpful and unnecessary, as usual.
