Re: “The Trump administration’s firing of FBI official Andrew McCabe,” March 19 letters to the editor.
Two letters in The Denver Post want to point (explicitly and implicitly, respectfully) to President Donald Trump for the firing of former FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe.
McCabe was fired by the attorney general, not Trump, because both the independent inspector general, Michael Horowitz, and the FBI’s Office of Professional Responsibility concluded that McCabe made an unauthorized disclosure and lacked candor when he spoke under oath. Both are cause for termination under the FBI code of ethics.
Trump’s comments subsequent to the firing were unhelpful and unnecessary, as usual.
