After days of warm mornings followed by late afternoon snow showers, Saturday’s weather should throughout the Denver metro.
A mostly cloudy day in Denver is expected to be paired with a high of 53 degrees and light breezes, according to the National Weather Service in Boulder. Tonight, temperatures are likely to drop to the 30 degree range.
Snow could fall along the northeastern plains by the Colorado and Wyoming border tonight. Meteorologists said anything from a dusting of snowflakes to 2 inches of powder could flurry down along the border line.
Mountain-goers can expect cooler temperatures, wind and snow. Wind gusts are likely to hover in the 15 to 25 miles per hour range with a chance of gusts reaching 45 miles per hour. Mountain snow is most likely north of Interstate 70 later in the afternoon. Meteorologists predicted 1 to 4 inches of high country snow accumulation through the night.
Sunday in the metro area is expected to warm up a bit with a high of 61 degrees and mostly sunny skies.
Snow is expected to linger into Sunday morning over the mountains and, potentially, over parts of northeast Colorado. Snowfall could stack up to 2 inches in the high country.
