Woman, 33, thrown from SUV during Broomfield crash dies at scene

Early crash happened near Northwest Parkway and Sheridan Boulevard

A 33-year-old woman died in Broomfield early Wednesday morning when she was thrown from a vehicle that crashed, police said.

An officer on patrol about 2:45 a.m. near Northwest Parkway and Sheridan Boulevard came across a Chevrolet Trailblazer in a ditch, according to a news release. The officer approached the SUV and found a woman about 20 feet from the Chevy.

North Metro Fire Rescue District responded and determined that the woman had died, police said.

Westbound lanes of the parkway were shut down for about two hours because of the crash.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation. The name of the victim was not released.
