A second suspect has been convicted in the May murder of Littleton resident Addison Stewart, who was found dead from two gunshot wounds inside an SUV.

A jury found Jordan Lemarinel, 28, guilty of first-degree murder, conspiracy to commit first-degree murder, aggravated robbery and tampering with a deceased body. He was sentenced to prison for life, plus 12 years. His codefendant, Kenneth Crise, 56, was found guilty of the same charges in March and sentenced to life in prison plus 48 years.

On May 1, Stewart headed to a house on South Owens Court south of West Capri Avenue expecting to buy illegal prescription drugs, according to a statement from District Attorney Peter Weir’s office. Prosecutors suspected that Lemarinel and Crise had lured Stewart there to settle debts.

Lemarinel and Crise were in the garage when Stewart arrived and shut the garage door behind him, according to the statement. Three minutes later, the garage door opened and Stewart’s body was dragged out and put into his own car.

Prosecutors say Lemarinel got into Stewart’s car and drove it roughly 10 minutes away, parking it outside of a house on West Maplewood Drive east of South Wadsworth Boulevard. He returned to the South Owens Court House on foot, according to the statement.

Later that day, the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a suspicious vehicle. When they arrived, they found Stewart dead inside.

Lemarinel has previously been found guilty of cruelty to animals and assault.
