The metro area should see a few more warm days before cooling down for the rest of the week.

Sunday is expected to be mostly cloudy with a high near 85 degrees, National Weather Service meteorologist Natalie Sullivan said. At 1:47 p.m., the Denver International Airport recorded 83 degrees, tying the day’s record high originally set in 1948.

The overnight low should be 48 degrees. Monday should also see hot temperatures with a high in the mid-70s.

A cold weather pattern is expected to move in Tuesday, bringing down the daily highs to the lower 60s until Thursday.

There’s a 30 percent chance of rain on Tuesday, Sullivan said.
