The skies over Denver will crackle Tuesday as a cold front brings thunderstorms, heavy rain and hail.
“Some of these storms may approach severe limits with hail, heavy rain and gusty winds. The best chance for storms will be along and north of a line from Denver to Akron,” according to the National Weather Service in Boulder.
Afternoon thunderstorms and rain showers are expected Tuesday. The high temperature will be around 65 degrees. The chance for precipitation is 40 percent Tuesday night. Winds out of the north will gust up to 23 percent.
Snow showers are possible in the mountains Wednesday and Thursday, the NWS says.
Wednesday will be very rainy with showers and thunderstorms forecast, according to the NWS. The chance for rain increases through the day. The high temperature will be around 58 degrees.
Afternoon thunderstorms are also likely Thursday. The high temperature will be around 56 degrees, the NWS says.

Temperatures will quickly warm back up into the 70s on Friday and the weekend under mostly sunny skies. There is a slight chance for rain and thunderstorms on Sunday.
