After three days of rain and dark, cloudy skies, the sun made an appearance Friday in the Denver metro area and a pleasant Spring weekend is ahead.

Temperatures will climb to 70 on Friday. Soft southwest breezes are expected.

Denver is going to green up nicely, said Jim Kalina, spokesman for the National Weather Service in Boulder.

“It will be warmer today with only a few light showers over the mountains,” forecasters say.

There’s a 10 percent chance of rain and thunderstorms Sunday night.

It will be mostly sunny next work week with temperatures rising into the 80s on Monday and upper 70s through Thursday, the NWS says.
