A hot Sunday kicks off a warm and dry week that is expected to see temperatures that are 9 to 12 degrees above normal.
The last day of the weekend should have a high around 77 degrees and an overnight low in the low 50s, National Weather Service meteorologist Kyle Fredin said. The skies should be mostly cloudy with a chance of isolated afternoon thunderstorms and gusty winds.
Temperatures heat up Monday with a high expected in the lower to mid-80s, he said. Tuesday and Wednesday should both have highs near 80 degrees. The day should heat up more on Thursday with a high in the mid-80s, Fredin said.
Temperatures cool Friday, dropping into the upper 70s. By Saturday, the high is expected to be in the upper 60s to mid-70s.
May is typically one of the wettest months with temperatures in the 60s and 70s, he said.
