Potato truck crashes on U.S. 285 west of Morrison, ties up traffic

A truck crash near Indian Hills shut down U.S. 285 and backed up traffic Thursday evening.

The crash, between Parmalee Gulch Road and Colorado 8, happened in the northbound lanes, according to the the Inter-Canyon Fire Protection District.

One southbound lane was open as emergency crews worked, according to the state Department of Transportation. Drivers in the area faced long delays.

The truck that crashed and rolled onto its side was carrying a load of potatoes.

There was no immediate report on the condition of the driver. The cause of the crash is under investigation.
