Unseasonably hot temperatures coupled with dry conditions have raised concerns Friday about fire danger, particularly in mountain valleys and the foothills southwest of Denver, weather forecasters warn.
Denverites face another sweltering day with temperatures climbing to about 94 degrees, according to the National Weather Service in Boulder.
A few severe storms on the Eastern Plains Friday could spin off a tornado or two and produce golf-ball-sized hail. Wind gusts could reach 60 mph.
There will be no relief from the heat over the weekend when temperatures hit 95 on Saturday and 96 on Sunday, forecasters say.
It will be milder on Monday and Tuesday though, when temperatures top out in the mid-80s, the weather service says.
