The Flatirons seen from the Chautauqua Trail on Tuesday in Boulder. Getting your player ready...
A 17-year-old Saudi Arabian boy was visiting his sister in Boulder when he fell from a rocky slope on the First Flatiron in Boulder County and injured himself Wednesday night, authorities say.
The teenager, whose name has not been released, was treated at a hospital for minor injuries.
The climber was scaling the First Flatiron at 101 Bluebell Road when he lost his footing and fell about 30 feet, according to a sheriff’s news release.
Rescuers from several agencies responded, including sheriff’s deputies, firefighters, Rocky Mountain Rescue climbers and an American Medical Response ambulance.
Rocky Mountain Rescue volunteers slowly carried the teenager out of the rocky clefts.
