The Arapahoe County District Attorney’s Office has filed a motion to dismiss a charge of interference with school operations against a teenager at Endeavor Academy.

The charge was filed in February against the student, now 18, but a lengthy investigation lead prosecutors to seek dismissal, according to a DA’s news release.

“This is the way the system is supposed to work.  Well meaning people report a problem to the police, and we ultimately look at the case under a microscope to see that there is actually a crime, and if not, we dismiss the case,” said District Attorney George Brauchler in a news release.

“I would like to encourage anyone who thinks that any place, especially a school, may be under threat to call the police immediately. This case shows that any such report will receive further scrutiny and investigation.”
