Soaking rain storms and isolated thunderstorms are forecast for Tuesday in the Denver metro area.
Rain showers are expected in the afternoon, along with some isolated thunderstorms, according to the National Weather Service in Boulder. The high temperature will be around 75 degrees.
The chance for rain increases from 40 percent in the afternoon to 80 percent at night. The rain could persist until 3 a.m. on Wednesday, meteorologists from NWS predict.
The rain could help dissipate smoky air that has been hovering over Denver from wildfires across the West.
Rain is possible Wednesday morning and afternoon. It will be mostly cloudy with a high temperature of 78 degrees. The chance for rain is 30 percent.
After the rains Tuesday and Wednesday, a pattern of sunshine is expected from Thursday at least until Monday, according to the NWS.
