The chill in the air Tuesday morning was the result of a wind change bringing cooler temperatures to the Denver metro area from the north.

Temperatures dropped to 52 degrees in Denver early Tuesday morning, according to the National Weather Service in Boulder.

“Cooler weather today! Highs will be almost autumn-like with lower to mid 70s across the plains and 60s to lower 70s mountains and foothills,” the weather service predicts.

The warmest it will get will be around 75 degrees on Tuesday, according to the National Weather Service in Boulder.

Northerly winds could gust as high as 17 mph. Isolated rains and thunderstorms are expected.

The “cold front” will be all but forgotten on Wednesday when sunshine will raise temperatures right back up to the upper 80s. By Thursday, temperatures will heat up to around 90 degrees, the NWS says.

Sunshine will persist on Friday, when the high temperature will be around 88 degrees.

It could rain a bit in isolated locations on Saturday, when temperatures will drop to around 83 degrees. Temperatures will drop to around 55 degrees Saturday night.

Sunny skies are on the radar for Sunday and Labor Day, on Monday.

The high temperature on Labor Day will be about 84 degrees.
