A man was shot in Lakewood on Tuesday afternoon and police are looking for the assailant.
The incident unfolded at about 1:15 p.m. with an argument between two people in O’Kane Park, West First Avenue and Teller Street, said John Romero, a police spokesperson. The dispute moved on to the 5300 block of West Fifth Avenue, where the man was shot. He was taken to a local hospital. His injuries are not life-threatening.
A woman was assaulted, but not shot during the incident. Police believe the incident was isolated and there is no threat to the general public.
An investigation is ongoing, Romero said, and police are working to develop leads on a suspect.
