An Aurora police officer is on paid leave while a criminal investigation determines if he was married to two women at the same time.
Roland Albert resigned Aug. 18 as treasurer of the Brotherhood for the Fallen, a nonprofit police organization with a chapter in Aurora that attends funeral services and supports families of police officers who are killed in the line of duty.
Records show a man with the same name as Roland Albert was married to a woman July 26 in Las Vegas.
Albertap wife filed for divorce in Colorado on July 26, but the case is still open, the Colorado state court website shows.
An Aurora Police spokeswoman said the district attorney’s office in Arapahoe County is investigating.
