Aurora police arrested an alleged bank robber Monday morning following a chase through neighborhoods in which the suspect swerved over a sidewalk and ended up on a lawn, authorities said.
The name of the man who was arrested in connection to the robbery has not been released.
The robbery happened at a Wells Fargo bank at 2222 S. Buckley Road, said Sgt. Bill Hummel, spokesman for the Aurora police department. Aurora police initially provided the wrong address for the robbery.
Witnesses called police with a description of the suspect’s car. Responding offers quickly spotted the get-away vehicle and gave chase, Hummel said.

The suspect sped away, but lost control of his vehicle, crashed over a curb and ended up in a grassy area. Police officers arrested the suspect without any further problems, Hummel said.
FBI and Aurora detectives are investigating the case, he said.
