A 22-year-old man who shot at a Denver police command post in May was sentenced Friday to 25 years in prison, the Denver District Attorney’s Office announced.

Kairo Alejandres-Vizcaino pleaded guilty in September to one count of attempted murder-extreme indifference. The sentence came as part of a stipulated plea agreement.

On May 5, Vizcaino shot at the DPD Command Post at South Federal Boulevard and West Arkansas Avenue. There were officers inside at the time, police said. Nobody was injured.

Vizcaino fled the scene, and attempted to elude officers in pursuit, running a stop sign and crashing into a police car.

He was was then arrested, and police found a semi-automatic handgun in the defendant’s vehicle, the DA’s office said.
