Breezy southwesterly winds will provide comfort for Denverites Friday while heaps of snow in the mountains will be comforting to Colorado skiers, according to forecasters.
Mostly sunshine with highs near 64 degrees is the forecast for Denver where brisk winds gusting up to 28 mph will be mostly from a southerly direction, according to the National Weather Service in Boulder.
Winter and high wind advisories are in effect from 6 a.m. Friday until 6 p.m. Saturday in the mountains.
Vail and Winter Park are expected to get 3 to 4 inches of snow on Friday.

There’s a winter weather advisory for the mountains.
Early Saturday morning there is a 30 percent chance of rain showers in the Denver metro area, the NWS says. The low temperature will be around 38 degrees.
The rain could turn to snow before 10 a.m. Saturday and then back to rain between 10 a.m. and noon, forecasters say. The high temperature will be only 50 degrees.
It will be breezy Saturday with winds gusting up to 32 mph. Temperatures will drop to 29 degrees overnight.
Although it will be partly sunny on Sunday, the high temperature will climb to only 54 degrees, the NWS says.
Afternoon rain showers are possible in Denver on Monday, when the high temperature will reach 48 degrees.
Temperatures will rise to the low-to-mid 40s between Tuesday and Thursday of next week.
