DENVER — After highs in the 50s and 60s for Fridays, a big change will arrive for Colorado for Saturday.
Another cold front will hit Colorado Friday night. A wintry mix will develop before midnight near the Colorado-Wyoming border. This freezing drizzle and light snow will gradually push south overnight. This could make for some extremely icy roads on Saturday.
A Winter Weather Advisory has been issued for most of northeastern Colorado — including Denver — due to the icy conditions that are expected on Saturday.
Snow totals will be light across the Metro Area, but we could see about 1 to 3 inches across northern Colorado near Fort Collins. We’ll see around 3 to 6 inches in the northern Front Range mountains.
The heaviest snowfall will stay in southern Wyoming where a Winter Storm Warning has been issued. Snowfall over northern Larimer and Weld Counties could be two to four inches on Saturday. Farther south in the Denver area, amounts will likely be an inch or two.
