MONTROSE — As the snow continued to fall, the celebration was subdued.

A snow angel here and there, but nothing really wild.

For the Loveland football team, the message was clear.

And so Beyonce.

“We’re not satisfied yet, not until we get a ring on our finger,” senior running back Zach Weinmaster said.

He — let’s call him “King Z” — had the right after rolling through the Montrose defense for 225 yards and four touchdowns on 29 carries on the way to a 42-0 4A state semifinal victory on Saturday, vaulting Loveland into a state championship showdown with Longs Peak League foe Skyline, a 32-0 winner over Ponderosa.

The 4A final is set for an 11 a.m. kickoff at Mile High Stadium.
