Denver weather forecast calls for 60-degree high; snow in the mountains

Denver will be breezy and unusually warm Wednesday as another snow storm approaches the Colorado Rockies, forecasters say.

The high temperature in downtown Denver is expected to reach 60 degrees, according to the National Weather Service in Boulder. Winds could gust as high as 25 mph.

Late Wednesday it will snow in the mountains with between 2 and 5 inches of snow expected. The snow will continue in the high country on Thursday. Wind gusts could reach 65 mph, the NWS says.

Partly sunny skies are expected in the Denver metro area Thursday with the high temperature peaking at 53 degrees.

There’s a slight chance of rain and snow before 1 p.m. in Denver on Friday. After 1 p.m. rain is more likely and snow could start falling again after 3 p.m., the weather service says. The high temperature will be near 45 degrees.

The next snow storm is expected on Sunday, beginning around 11 a.m. The high temperature will be around 36 degrees. Snow is also possible on Monday, when the high temperature will top out at around 33 degrees.
