The time has come for the Rockies to bring Noah Syndergaard and Thor’s hammer to Coors Field.

The MLB hot stove season hasn’t been too scorching hot thus far, but talks of Syndergaard and the Rockies on Wednesday caught my attention. of The Athletic said not to rule the Rockies out as a potential suitor for Syndergaard.

Denver Post Rockies beat reporter doesn’t think this move would happen as it would go against the Rockies and GM Jeff Bridich’s philosophy.

There are a lot of Rockies faithful that would approve. In his four seasons with the Mets he has compiled a 37-22 record with 2.93 ERA. The big stat that I like to see is Syndergaard had two complete games in 2018. That is something the Rockies as a staff can not say as they went all of 2018 without one. It shows that Syndergaard is a bulldog on the mound and wants to finish what he starts.

Syndergaard would be a leader on the mound for the Rockies and would fit right in there with Kyle Freeland, Antonio Senzatela and German Marquez.

Something to remember here is Syndergaard is still under team control with the Mets and the earliest he would see free agency would be 2022. That is good news for any team that might land the hard throwing right-hander.

Yes, the Rockies need to improve their offensive struggles from 2018 and they surely will address those issues. Colorado has never really had a problem finding players to hit at 20th and Blake.

My vote is for the Rockies to do both this offseason — go and get the bat they have been wanting and make a move for Syndergaard.

The time is now to fill seats at Coors Field full of fans swinging Thor hammers.
