Snow with gusty winds is likely Wednesday along the Front Range and the Eastern Plains, forecasters say.
Most of the snow is expected to fall later in the day between 5 and 11 p.m., according to the National Weathers Service.
But less than a half an inch of snow is expected to accumulate in Denver. The high temperature in Denver will be around 38 degrees, the NWS says. Winds could gust as high as 28 mph Wednesday night.
Christmas vacation return trips could be tricky Wednesday night, particularly for those headed east, forecasters say.
“Traveling east into far eastern/southeast Colorado, western Kansas, or southwest to north central Nebraska? Get it done during the daylight today, or wait til late Thursday – better yet Friday,” the weather service says.
