Central City has shut off water to most city homes and businesses following a water main break on Eureka Street.

The water shut-off affects most businesses and homes within city limits but some subdivisions get their water from other sources, Central City Manager Daniel Miera said.

Contractors are on their way to the mountain town to repair the water main, Miera said.

“We’re going to have it up and working as soon as we can,” he said.

In the meantime, residents can go to City Hall to get drinking water. The town’s casinos also have drinking water, he said.
