Aurora police investigating shooting death of man found just after midnight

The victim was pronounced dead at a hospital

Aurora police are investigating a homicide in which a male was shot and found on a sidewalk a few minutes after midnight Wednesday.

The name and age of the victim have not been released.

Police officers were called at 12:21 a.m. Wednesday to the 1300 block of North Kingston Street, according to an Aurora police tweet.

Officers found a male lying on the sidewalk. He was transported to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The Aurora Police Department’s major crimes and homicide unit are investigating the fatal shooting.

The deceased victim will be identified by the Arapahoe County Coroner’s Office pending the notification of next of kin.
