Denver weather: Metro area very warm before snowstorm

Above normal temperatures before weekend cooldown

A storm that could bring snow to Denver by Friday night is headed toward Colorado, according to forecasters.

But until it arrives Denverites will bask in warm temperatures reaching 73 degrees on Wednesday, according to the National Weather Service in Boulder. The low will be around 42 degrees.

It could begin to rain as early as noon on Thursday when the high will be around 66 degrees. The chance for rain and thunderstorms increases Thursday evening.

Rain, snow and thunder are all possible Friday evening. Temperatures will drop down into the upper 40s. Snow could start falling before 8 p.m. Chance of precipitation is 30 percent.

It will be partly sunny on Saturday with a high temperature of around 42 degrees. Between Sunday and Tuesday, temperatures will climb above 50 degrees, the weather service says.
