Less than an hour after Tyler Anderson throws the first pitch at Coors Field at 2:10 p.m. Friday, there’s a small chance that rain and thunderstorms could add even more drama to the home opener game between the Colorado Rockies and the Los Angeles Dodgers, according to weather forecasters.

To be precise, the National Weather Service in Boulder is predicting a 10 percent chance of stormy weather.

Otherwise, the forecast for baseball is pretty much close to perfect with temperatures in the upper 60s, the NWS says.

Light winds of between 5 to 8 mph aren’t likely to impact homers by the Blake Street Bombers.

On Saturday, it will be mostly cloudy over Coors Field and there’s a greater chance for rain and thunderstorms impacting the Rockies’ second game at 6:10 p.m. versus the Dodgers. The chance for rain will be about 30 percent.

Temperatures will be in the mid-60s, according to the NWS.

Sunshine will reign Sunday when the Rockies play the third game in their series against the Dodgers beginning at 6:37 p.m.

The second Rockies series of baseball against the Atlanta Braves could be a lot more interesting in terms of weather.

It will be sunny with a high of 69 degrees for the Monday game and sunny with a high of 71 on Tuesday against the Braves. Then weather conditions get nasty.

Snow or rain is possible Wednesday during the third game between the Rockies and Braves. The high temperature on Wednesday will only be 49 degrees.
