Sporadic afternoon thunderstorms, hail and rain are possible in Denver Tuesday while the mountains could experience the spring-time phenomenon of thundersnow, forecasters say.

There’s a 30 percent chance of rain in the Denver metro area in the afternoon and evening, according to the National Weather Service in Boulder. Downtown Denver could reach 70 degrees Tuesday.

The mountains just west of Denver could get thundersnow. Steamboat Springs could get more snow, the NWS says.

Rain is possible throughout the day Wednesday, forecasters say.

Temperatures will warm up during the second half of the week, with highs of 62 degrees Thursday, 75 on Friday and 76 on Saturday.

There’s a slight chance for rain and thunderstorms Saturday night, the NWS says.

Cooler temperatures are expected Sunday along with rain. The high temperature will be around 56 degrees.
