The Colorado Avalanche is making a name for itself after getting back to the Stanley Cup Playoffs in back-to-back seasons for the first time since 2005-06. The Avs have had a stellar run through the first four games of the series, leading 3-1 over the Flames.
Avs’ fans around LoDo are thrilled with how the team is playing thus far, you can see the excitement around Denver with all the burgundy and blue swag being worn.
But don’t get too comfy.
With a commanding lead in the series, there are times players, coaches, mascots and fans start to look ahead to the next round of the playoffs. Now isn’t the time to celebrate a series victory as there is still work to be done.
A 3-1 series lead isn’t always safe, as there have been 28 times an NHL team has overcome such a deficit … the last coming back in the second round of the 2015 Stanley Cup Playoffs when the New York Rangers rallied to beat the Washington Capitals.
The moral of the story — Game 5 in Calgary is huge for the Avs.
Take a look at the that have come back to win a series after being down three games.
