Denver police are investigating an assault that occurred Sunday afternoon in the 1600 block of West Evans Avenue.

The agency said on Twitter that someone assaulted multiple people with a blunt force object.

Denver police spokesman Tyrone Campbell said the altercation involving multiple people was reported shortly before 1 p.m. and is still being investigated. Police were initially concerned that the object used was a bat, he said, but the investigation is ongoing.

Two victims suffered serious injuries and two victims suffered minor injuries, according to the tweet. Police have taken one person into custody, but that individual has not been publicly identified.
