If you thought winter had come and gone, think again.
The snowy season made another appearance on the Front Range Monday, with flurries adding a little white to spring flower beds across the metro area.
After a high temperature of 78 degrees in Denver on Sunday, Monday’s high temperature in the city topped out at 42 degrees — a 36-degree swing.
Snow fell Monday in Denver and in other parts of the Front Range. Fort Collins reported 3.2 inches of snow by late afternoon and Westminster reported 2.3 inches, according to the National Weather Service.
At 9 p.m. Monday, snow had stopped falling in Denver but the temperature dipped below freezing, down to 30 degrees, with foggy and misty skies. Humidity in Denver at 9 p.m. was 99 percent, according to the weather service.
The snow is coming down hard in Westminster. Little league baseball games here are cancelled today.

Overnight in Denver there’s a chance of 2 to 4 inches of new snow, the weather service said. On Tuesday, snow showers should change to possible rain showers after 8 a.m. with a chance of thunder under mostly cloudy skies. The high temperature in Denver should climb to about 51 degrees Tuesday, the chance for precipitation is 50 percent. Little to no new snow accumulation is expected Tuesday in Denver.
