Morning rain, heavy afternoon showers, small hail and thunderstorms are possible in the Denver metro area Wednesday, forecasters say.
There’s a 20 percent chance of rain showers and thunderstorms after 3 p.m., according to the National Weather Service in Boulder.
It’s going to remain cool throughout the day, with a high temperature of around 57 degrees.

The chance for rain diminishes Thursday when Denverites will get to see more sunshine than they have since the weekend. The high temperature will be around 68 degrees.
A big warm up begins Friday, with temperatures climbing to the mid-70s even though there is a chance for evening rain and thunderstorms. The chance for precipitation is 30 percent.
This weekend high temperatures will reach about 78 degrees on Saturday and 80 on Sunday. There’s a slight chance of afternoon rain on both days.
By Monday, the high temperature in the Mile High City will be around 86 degrees.
