Get your kites, running shoes and soccer balls out of the closet because Friday is the beginning of a nice stretch of warm Spring weather, national weather forecasters say.

But since it is spring always keep a wary eye on the sky because isolated thunderstorms will intrude on afternoon and evening picnics through the weekend, according to the National Weather Service in Boulder.

It will be very pleasant Friday with a high temperature of about 77 degrees.

There’s a 10 percent chance for rain showers, small hail and thunderstorms after 5 p.m. on Friday, forecasters said. The chance for rain will increase to 20 percent in the evening.

Scattered thunderstorms and rain showers are expected in the mountains, forecasters said.

Saturday will be mostly sunny and warm, but there’s a 30 percent chance of rain and thunder after 1 p.m. The high temperature will be around 76 degrees, the NWS said. It will gradually become mostly cloudy in the evening.

There’s a slight chance for morning rain on Sunday and then showers and thunderstorms after 1 p.m., according to the NWS. It will be mostly sunny with a high temperature of 79 degrees.

Sunshine will prevail Monday and Tuesday, as high temperatures climb to the mid 80s, NWS forecasters said.
